Our Role
Our firm worked closely with the client to file their patent application in the United States based on an earlier PCT and Canadian filings. Throughout the patent prosecution process, we responded to several office actions overcoming various prior art cited by the Examiner. Eventually, our firm appealed the Examiner’s position and the appeal board agreed with our arguments reversing the Examiner and allowing all claims resulting in a successful grant, enabling the client to secure a competitive advantage in the market.

A Medical Device Company focusing on solutions for Critical Limb Ischemia
Our Role
Our team assisted the client in developing a patent strategy for their stent delivery system to complement their hypotube construction and ballon stents, which aimed to treat critical limb ischemia. We began by conducting a thorough patent search to ensure there were no conflicting patents and then drafted a strong application that highlighted the unique materials and structural components. We also represented the client during the patent prosecution process, responding to the patent office’s inquiries and securing the patent grant in the US and corresponding patents in Europe.

Our Role
We worked closely with the client to protect their innovative medical device to allow for patients to treat dry eyes at home instead of an office setting. Our team conducted a patent search and drafted the application, focusing on the device’s structural elongated arm design. Following a request for acceleration examination and during the prosecution process, we were able to secure an allowance after only one office action resulting in the patent grant. This protection allowed the client to enter the market for potential licensing opportunities and collaboration with other medical providers.
